Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 27, 2026

Jordan's Job Finder (jordansjobfinder.com) finds job postings that match a saved search and can tailor your resume to each one. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, who else processes it, how long we keep it, and how to delete it. The service is run by Divine Davis, who is the data controller.

What we collect

  • Account: your email address and a password, which we store only as a salted one-way hash. We also record failed sign-in attempts to lock out password guessing.
  • Saved searches and preferences: the roles, experience level, salary and cities you choose, the jobs matched to you, and which jobs you applied to (a record of each tailored resume you download, with the company, title, location and date).
  • Your resume: the PDF or DOCX you upload, the text we extract from it, an estimate of your years of experience, the tailored resumes we generate from it, and any AI interview-prep plans you request.
  • Payments: if you subscribe, Stripe collects your card details directly — we never see or store them. We keep your Stripe customer and subscription IDs and your plan status, and we give Stripe your email address and account ID.
  • Feedback: the message you send, the optional email you give (or your account email if signed in), and the page you came from.
  • Technical data: our servers log your IP address, browser user agent, pages requested and times, and we log account events (sign-up, sign-in, deletion) with the IP address, for security. A session cookie keeps you signed in.
  • Advertising measurement: the Google Ads tag on our pages sets Google cookies and tells Google when a new account is created, so we can measure which ads lead to sign-ups.

How we use it

To run your account and saved searches, match and show you jobs, tailor resumes and interview prep, process subscriptions, answer feedback, keep the service secure, and measure our ads. We do not sell your data or use your resume for anything other than your own results.

Who else processes your data

  • Anthropic (Anthropic, PBC) — the text of your resume, together with a job's title, company and description, is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to write tailored resumes and interview-prep plans. Anthropic does not use API data to train its models.
  • Stripe (Stripe, Inc.) — payment processing and subscription management.
  • Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc.) — Turnstile checks sign-up and sign-in forms for bots; it receives your IP address and browser signals.
  • Google (Google LLC) — the Google Ads tag (googletagmanager.com) and conversion measurement. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland, advertising cookies stay off until you choose Accept on our cookie banner.
  • DigitalOcean (DigitalOcean, LLC) — hosts our server, database and your uploaded files in the United States.

How long we keep it

  • Account, saved searches, resume and tailored resumes: until you delete your account. Uploading a new resume replaces the old one.
  • Applied-job history: about one year, then deleted automatically.
  • Feedback: kept after account deletion (with the email you gave) so we can follow up; ask and we will delete it.
  • Web server logs: 14 days. Application logs are overwritten as they fill.
  • Stripe keeps payment records as financial law requires, under its own policy.

Deleting your data

Signed in, go to Settings and choose Delete account. That cancels any subscription and permanently deletes your account, saved searches, matches, applied-job history, interview plans, and your uploaded and tailored resume files. You can also email us to delete your data, including feedback.

Your rights

Everyone can ask what we hold about them, get a copy, correct it, or have it deleted. We reply within 30 days and never charge or treat you differently for asking.

California (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know, access, correct and delete your personal information, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell personal information. Our Google Ads tag may count as “sharing” for cross-context behavioural advertising; to opt out, email us, turn on Global Privacy Control, or block third-party cookies. We do not use sensitive personal information beyond providing the service. You may act through an authorised agent.

EEA and UK (GDPR / UK GDPR): our legal bases are performance of a contract (your account, resume tailoring and subscription), legitimate interests (security and fraud prevention), and your consent (advertising cookies). You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, may withdraw consent at any time by clearing this site's storage to see the cookie banner again, and may complain to your data protection authority (in the UK, the ICO). Your data is processed in the United States; our processors use standard contractual clauses for these transfers.

Children

Jordan's Job Finder is for adults looking for professional jobs. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you think a child has created an account, email us and we will delete it.

Security

Passwords are hashed, uploaded resumes are readable only by the server account, the site is served over HTTPS, and sign-in is rate-limited and bot-checked. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you we will tell you as the law requires.

Changes

We will update the date above when this policy changes, and tell account holders about material changes.
